In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Suriname has climbed by 1 position from 51 to 50 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Suriname has moved up the rankings table by 4 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Suriname performs best on Natural Environment and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Business Environment pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Safety & Security increasing by 5 places, whereas they dropped 10 places on Economic Quality.
