In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Panama has fallen by 1 position from 39 to 40 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Panama has remained at the same position.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Panama performs best on Business Environment and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Health pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Economic Quality increasing by 5 places, whereas they dropped 22 places on Social Capital.
