In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Ecuador has fallen by 12 positions from 59 to 71 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Ecuador has moved up the rankings table by 5 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Ecuador performs best on Natural Environment and Social Capital and scores lowest on the Business Environment pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Social Capital increasing by 36 places, whereas they dropped 19 places on Governance.
